Glasgow Times Community Champion Awards 2025

We are delighted to announce that Peter McCarthy, Chair of LHA's Residents' Panel and local community member, has been shortlisted for Senior Champion of the Year.

Peter has been heavily involved in his community for many years so it's great that he's been shortlisted.

The public result will be combined with the votes of a judging panel to choose who goes through to the grand final so it would be great if as many people as possible voted for Peter and the other nominees from Govan:

• Champion School of the Year – Govan High School
• Community Champion of the Year – David Wright.  David was nominated by Govan Housing Association for his dedication to litter picking; picking up over 180 bags of rubbish within the past 10 months
• Health & Wellbeing Champion of the Year – Govan Pantry Volunteers
• Senior Champion of the Year – Peter McCarthy
