Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (“FOISA”) and the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (“EIR”) place a general obligation on Scottish Public Authorities to allow the public access to information that they hold. Both FOISA and EIR are overseen by the Scottish Information Commissioner (“SIC”).

From November 2019 Linthouse Housing Association (LHA) has been designated as Scottish Public Authority and is required to make information available in accordance with FOISA and EIR.

  • provides a general understanding of FOISA and EIR; and
  • outlines where responsibility lies for complying with the legal duties of EHA under FOISA and EIR Policy Statement

Making and FOI or EIR request

Requests made by email should be sent to corporateservices@linthouseha.com.

Requests by letter should be sent to our main office.

For your rights to apply you must make an FOI request in a format that can be held on record i.e. an email or letter. An EIR request can however be made verbally. If you need more information on your rights and what should be included in a request you can get this from the Scottish Infoirmation Commissioner.
